Neighbour Gallery...
Digging up the shared driveway. My neighbour has every right to carry out work on his property but, when neighbours are going to be affected or their property might be compromised, it is necessary to notify them and involve them. Note, no attempt has been made to save the very expensive decorative gravel. The labourers have just topped the clay on top of it!
This was how the labourers left the driveway when they finished. Note the distinct ridge of gravel between our property (foreground) and my neighbour's. Also note the inspection cover which has been incorrectly installed at the sub-surface level. It should have been installed so that the cover was at to level of the final gravel surface.
Another view showing the drop in level between my property (to the right) and my neighbour's. As expected, my gravel has migrated leftwards so we now have to be very careful not to park right back on the affected area.
What a mess! How the labourers left the driveway when they 'finished' work. The promised reinstatement of the original aggregate type and colour never happened despite assurances that the correct aggregate was "on order", "had been ordered" and was "due for delivery", it never arrived.
How the driveway ended up! Note the laying of totally mis-matched gravel, decorative weeds and still no attempt to reinstate the level of the aggregate. Our contractor estimated that the labourers had removed circa 2 tons of aggregate but after insistance by my wife and I, my neighbour had them lay 0.5 tons of aggregate, of the wrong type and colour. My neighbour does not seem to believe in maintaining his property externally prefering to spend a fortune on the interior. That's his choice but it isn't nice to live next door to.
Vehicle Parking etc.
Three of my neighbour's vehicles with the red wheelie-bin. You can clearly see why the bin is there, to prevent vehicles being reversed over my property.
My neighbour's 4th vehicle. He changes which vehicle parks permanently in this visitor parking spot, the BMW, the Mercedes Mini-bus and the Range Rover, from time to time (remember, we have only two of these pull-ins in the close). As of March 2023, this vehicle is still there and has been parked and unused for 5 months.
Just one example of our neighbour driving across our property to reach the street. It was this behaviour that led to us placing the wheelie-bin at the entrance to the driveway!
Despite all our efforts, our neighbour's visitors parked like this, totally blocking the entrance to the driveway. Cars would be parked there for hours on occasions.
Ignorant, selfish blocking of the 'right of way'
